Proposal to Cross-Train Employees

training is something that will help not only the company but the customer will not be
neglected and since we have priority to assist customers and give 100% of customer service,
it is crucial that we do not have a deficit of employee s between departments. Cross- training
the staff that engages employees will be more flexible with their time. For example cross-
training can happen during the slow time of the business can start between two departments
for example woman apparel and jewelry and watches. Scheduled meeting, employees being
sick, scheduled vacations and emergency situation will never be an issue once cross-training
is complete. This will allow head department scheduling according to the employee that have
The cross-training will benefit the company as well as the employees. The employees will be
more of an asset for the company and will add value to each employee. Also the company
will experience any shortage in the production and will not leave and work undone. Work
does not have to held and wait for a certain employee to come back from vacation or if they
had to leave early due to an emergency. The work will be done the same day and more tasks
can be delegated within the department since the knowledge will be available after the
training had been started.
For this plan to work at is finest and not affect any current production. The planning can be
conducted at lunch time in meeting so will not interfere with the work flow within JCPenny.
All the progress should monitored and rewarded to the employee once the cross-training is
completed. This will bring the best out of the employee and help boosted their confidence and
this will help JCPenny save money by not having to hire outside employees, which could be
